I recently received a Boden catalog in the mail and love just about every piece of clothing in it. After looking through the catalog a few times, I started to think that some of the items that I like might be easy to sew.. Maybe I could make this Silk Cascade Skirt but possibly in a knit for summer. Or this Embellished Tank, which would not be difficult at all. Right? or this Tie Belt Skirt in light and summery colors. I can make this! I think I will have to look at the catalog a little longer and decided if I should try to make them or buy them. I think at least one is worth the try! Enjoy!

Yes It really is Thursday, but I had to postpone my What I Saw Wednesday post due to my Giveaway. Spring is finally here and my favorite flower is starting to bloom. They are lovely Irises. The colors just amaze me and every year more flowers grow. It is so wonderful to finally see flowers and color after the long cold winter and spring! Enjoy!

I am in the process of trying to design our landscaping for our front yard. I had not given it much thought yet this spring since the weather has not been cooperative and I have not been in the planting mode. This is what my front yard looks like in Late July. The Black-Eyed Susan's will be gone since they grow like crazy and I think I am over the messy and organized way they look by the summers end. So we have decided to pull out all the bushes and flowers and start with a clean slate. I found a few inspirations in magazines and I think I have a few ideas for possible designs. This is a similar house, slightly larger, but I like what they have done with the garden, except for the pergola. Natural and low plants with mulch, very organized and pleasing to the eye. Another before, now this is not similar at all to my home,except the garden looks to be the same shape and sizes as mine. While preparing to go on vacation, I am always amazed at the number of cords and accessories I need to take for my phone, computer and ipod. They seem to always become a tangled mess on my return and sometimes I wonder if I have any of them behind. So I came up with a simple solution that uses twist ties to help me stay organized. I started by gathering up some other supplies which included leftover ribbon and some seam binding. Now the next step I didn't document with a photo, but all I did was fold the ribbon over the twist tie and sewed down on all sides. I then had three lovely ties for my cords. Super easy and fun to make and took me all of 10 minutes to sew them up. Just twist them around the cord and they are ready to travel. Super easy and protects any cord from tangles. This was by far the easiest recycling project I have created and you can make dozens in about 1/2 hour. It has been two weeks since I have complied a weekend list and have been so busy that I have had no time to think about new projects. But luckily I have running list that I add to everyday so I have picked a few that I would really like to attempt. (1)Yesterday while waiting in line at Joann's I saw these again in the $1.00 bins. I have seem them so many times and keep thinking there has to be something I can make with them. (2) Twist Ties. I have this idea for Twist Ties that will help with organization around the house and includes a little recycling too! (3) Bib Jewelry. I think this is made from buttons or are they ribbon or fabric Yo-Yos? Not sure but I will try to recreate if possible. (4) And lastly a plain old hanger. I have a project that will remake some hangers into something (I think) really amazing! So that is the Back to it List and I hope to have a few things to share with you next week.
