Merry Christmas! I would like to give you a gift of a recipe that I have been making for years. It is super easy and will get  rave reviews from all your Holiday guests. I call them Cheese Pennies, although they have been called Gold Doubloons or Homemade Cheez its. Following is recipe that (be warned) will make this a request for every party from now on. Ingredients 3 Sticks of Butter 1 1/2 Packages of Onion Soup Mix 1 1/2 Teaspoons of Salt 1 1/2 Pounds Grated Cheese (about 6 cups) 3 Cups of Flour Directions: Mix Butter and Cheese well in a mixer. Add remaining ingredients and blend. It will be very dry and may need to be kneaded. Shape into 1 inch roll in wax paper and chill (2 hours) Slice into 1/4 inch thick Place on ungreased cookie sheet Bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes This makes about 6 to 7 dozen Serve while hot or cold with fresh apple slices! I have been busy making jewelry and pendants over the last few weeks and have created a few easy pendant cords that can make any pendant look good for just a few pennies. They are all very simple and only use a few supplies that you might already have The first one is a satin cord with spring ring closure. I started with a roll of statin cord,crimp ends and pliers. I cut the statin cord to about 18" long since this seems to be the correct length for a pendant. Then I laid the cord in the end and crimped I crimped the other end the same way and I was almost done. I then added a spring ring and jump ring for the closure. It was done! For the Second cord I took a length of Leather and a bead. I then threaded the bead on to the leather.  Then tied a knot on each end. Lastly I tied a loop on one end and made sure that they bead fit thru snuggly. The Last cord was made from super skinny ribbon and a button Cut to 20 inches so to leave enoug...

I like to put a little personality in my gift wrapping and card making, but I don't like to spend ton of money either. So when I found these shopping bags for .99 I thought of the perfect idea to dress them up. Then after I cut up a few old file folders, punched a few circles and made a few pomps, I was left with these two adorable gift bags. Now I needed to make two cards since these were for our Twin Nephews and each one needed to be special. So I printed a photo of each of their baby faces and added a little party attire. I love making cards and using photos. It's personal and can be funny. Such cute baby faces. I can't believe that they are Three! The cards and the bags were a hit and so simples to create! Enjoy!

Let the games begin! I love the the Olympics for the competition, the drama, the stories and hearing the National anthem of little known countries. I felt inspired to make something to show my enthusiasm as the games are about to begin. So I started with a few pieces of felt, some silver rings and two bracelet ends Next I cut the felt it to 1/4 inch width strips in the colors of the rings. The ring colors represent the five continents that participate in the games. Then I took the five rings and looped them together in a chain. Next I looped the felt pieces thru the end of chain on both ends. And then trimmed so that it was about 2 1/2 Inches long. I then placed the end pieces it to the bracelet end and crimped it closed. This was the toughest part as you have to make sure all your ends are secure when you crimp. I repeated the process on the other side and my bracelet was almost complete. It's March and today it feels like January, although I shouldn't complain since there in the North East we have had a very mild Winter with very little snow. But today it is cold and snowy and I am thinking about spring. This year Spring fashion is all about Bright and Stripes. So I thought why not make few bright and striped jewelry pieces. I started by finding some bright Ribbon in my Stash. Next I cut a piece about 10 Inches long and hold over about 1 1/2 inches on each end to make a pocket Then my ribbon was now 7 inches long. The sewed it shut just on one side on each end. Next I used 2 pieces of bronze colored chain that measured 7 1/2" each. Next I cut two pieces 1 inch long and threaded them thru the pockets and linked them up to both chains. Lastly I added a lobster claw to the back and a vintage button to the front and I was done. Well I'm not really in chains, but my neck is draped with them ever since I found this spool of chain and some other interesting links few weeks back. It was all under $5 for both and I made some very pretty statement jewelry. I had planned to make one necklace but the spool was 7 yards long and I knew that was more than enough for one. So I made several and here are my creations. One Super long Necklace with some large circle links added and a semi long with some oval shaped links. You basically cut a length of chain, open a link and attach and close link to the other end. Very Easy. You can get more creative and add other types of links. As in this necklace I used the leftover ovals links from this necklace that I made and blogged about last month. It also used the coil of change as well.
